Water

In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), the Yin aspect of the water element is associated with the Kidneys while the Yang aspect is associated with the Urinary Bladder.  The kidneys sit either side of the spine in the middle of one's back behind the ribs.  The left kidney is slightly higher than the right because the right kidney is pushed down slightly owing to the magnitude of the liver.

Negative emotions of fear, fright, shock and trauma can adversely affect the kidneys.
